Scientific Games Corporation has signed a licensing agreement with Margaritaville Enterprises to offer the Margaritaville brand across all of the company’s channels of distribution. This agreement makes the Margaritaville brand available to Scientific Games customers for lottery games and slot machines, as well as social games and game content for real-money Internet wagering, throughout the world.
This is the second multi-channel licensing agreement signed by Scientific Games since the company acquired WMS Industries late last year. In January 2014, the company signed a multi-channel licensing agreement with Hasbro.
“Scientific Games is continuing its commitment to providing lotteries, casinos and online gaming operators worldwide with opportunities to leverage the popularity of some of the biggest consumer brands in the market today,” said Steve Saferin, president, properties group, and chief creative officer for Scientific Games in a prepared statement. “Margaritaville is synonymous with fun and escapism – promoting the lifestyle so many gaming consumers dream about, which makes it ideal for all four distribution channels.”
Margaritaville is well known for its restaurants located in popular tourist destinations throughout the United States and internationally. Over the past few years, Margaritaville has expanded its portfolio to include casinos, hotels, resorts and vacation ownership.
In addition to these exciting destination venues, Margaritaville has an expansive line of consumer products including apparel and footwear, furniture, headphones and blenders, as well as access to Jimmy Buffett concert tickets, resulting in unique merchandise and experiential prize options.
The first Margaritaville instant game is scheduled to launch in April 2014 by the Florida Lottery. The $5 game will offer a $250,000 top prize, along with vacation and concert experience prizes, and Margaritaville merchandise prize packs. Its alluring ticket art features palm trees, parrots and an ocean scene.
